I was saddened to read the 1-star review of this company, posted a few months ago. The property described in that review was/is a rental property. I was the tenant that was residing in that property at the time.
There is another side to the story, and I feel morally obligated to supply some additional info.
That earlier 1-star review begins with a complaint about calling Elsass on a Friday and Elsass not sending a tech out until the following Tuesday.
To give proper context:
We were in the middle of a massive heat wave. All contractors were incredibly busy. My landlord, who claimed to have 10+ properties, had NO existing relationships with HVAC contractors. Therefore, he was not exactly anyone's priority when he started calling for emergency service in the middle of such a scenario.
When the tech came out on Tuesday and assessed the situation, he then discussed the part(s) needed with my landlord. I did not overhear the entire conversation, but did overhear my landlord asking if he could use a coupon from the Elsass website and/or use a military discount. So, he was not an existing customer, we were in the middle of a huge heat wave, and his concern was for obtaining discounted services. I don't know about the Elsass team, but if it were my business, such a potential client would move to the bottom of my priority list.
Dale (the tech mentioned) was extremely polite and professional. He commented on the thermostat in question. It was an outdated (mercury/analog) style that hasn't been installed in homes for many years. He hadn't even seen one installed in a long time. (This landlord could have installed an updated thermostat years ago, but of course he never did that.)
There are several more details to this story, but suffice to say that I seriously doubt that Elsass was "dishonest" as was described. From my perspective, they were dealing with an impossible client, in an impossible situation, as best they could.

This is a wonderful family own business who are dedicated to providing excellent service. They communicate well, are professional, kind, courteous, and when they arrive they are hard at work. Brandon Elsass replaced our furnance and I couldn’t have asked for a better company to meet our needs. If you are considering which heating and cooling company to use I highly reccomend giving them a call. It’s very rare now a days to find a company who would take pride in their work and have good work ethics, but if you call Elsass Heating and Cooling company you will find it with them!

Disappointing / dishonest. Cooling issue; had a furnace whose fan quit running when outdoor temps were over 90^F. Called Friday; earliest Elsass could come was Tuesday; would not provide estimated time for arrival until the actual day of service, so had to advance schedule the whole day off to wait for them. Serviceman Dale told me that furnace motor was bad; quoted a repair cost of over $1300; ordered motor for 2 day delivery. Called Friday to learn that motor had arrived the day before; earliest install would be the following Tuesday. Took another day off work to wait for serviceman who never arrived on time, nor before their office closed; he showed up at 5:10PM after I had their answering service call him. Installed new motor, but it would not work until he jumper wired across the thermostat's fan switch on/off terminals to bypass the thermostat's fan switch. He then stated that he had experienced the SAME problem with the old motor, which he said he had been able to get running via a jumper wire. In other words, THE THERMOSTAT'S ON/OFF SWITCH WAS THE PROBLEM, NOT THE OLD MOTOR. He had tricked me into buying a new motor for $1300 but I caught his dishonesty. Stay away from Elsass Heating; not recommended.

Brandon came out promptly at 10:00AM and sat down with me and went through everything we would need to add AC to our home. He then sent me an emailed quote from his iPad that explained in detail the equipment we would get. Great company!
